General Details of the Tournament

  • The Tournament Kicks Off at 10:00 Sharp. Teams will need to register at 9:30 or later if instructed
  • Alcohol is not permitted
  • Teams are required to register 30 minutes before their first match kick off time. Teams are requested to be at their appointed pitch 10 minutes before the start of each game. Any team arriving later than their game start time will forfeit the match. If a team is late for its first two games, it will be removed from the Tournament. The opposition team will be awarded the points for the game. The referee's decision is final in this regard
  • The World Cup tournament will be based on the World Cup format, however Goal difference and then number of goals scored will decide the final placings
  • There will be 8 Groups of 4 Teams playing 3 games each. The first and second from each group will progress to the knockout stage. Three points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw. In the event of a team not turning up, the other teams will be awarded 3 points each and the top team will still qualify from the group of three

  • The Over 35’s Tournament will be based on a cut down version of the World Cup event. 4 groups of 4 playing 3 games in a league format and the top 2 in each group progress to the knockout stages.  
  • Matches will be played on an astro turf surface hockey pitch
  • Astro trainers, moulded studded boots and runners may be worn. Studded Football boots cannot be worn on this surface
  • Each game will be 10 minutes each half, with a 2-minute break at half time
  • No offside rules apply, however at tip-off both teams must be in own half
  • Teams may wear team jerseys, however Bibs will be available in cases of colour clashes. The referee will have discretion in these situations and his decision is final
  • Squads are limited to 8 players. No more than 6 players from any one team are allowed on the pitch at any time
  • Substitutes may be interchanged (in a tag situation) anytime the ball is out of play, without the need to attract the referee's attention
  • A player receiving a Yellow Card will also be sent to the Sin Bin for 3 minutes. A player receiving three Yellow Cards will automatically miss the team's next match. A player receiving a Red Card will be sent from the pitch and will automatically miss the team's next match. Team Captains will be responsible for ensuring the enforcement of this and any team failing to comply will be removed from the tournament. Aggressive or Violent behaviour will not be accepted and teams or individuals failing to comply will be removed from the tournament
  • Due to restictions by the dublin and leinster leagues we are not permitted to issue cash prises. Therefore the prises will be issued in voucher format to the same value. Vouchers will be valid for as many shops in Ireland as is possible. This will be confirmed closer to the date.

  • Shower Facilities and changing rooms are available, please note you are advised to keep you personal belongings with you or alternatively you may chose to leave them in the boot of your car
  • Refreshments, Food and Drink will be available to purchase on the day
  • Parking is available, however will be limited on the day
  • The Parkvale Football Club Event Coordinator reserves the right to make any decision not covered in the rules.
